Mission Statement

My New Red Shoes (MNRS) works to improve the quality of life and well-being of children and youth experiencing economic hardship. At the core of our work is the belief that every child deserves to live a healthy and productive life.

Description

Children living in poverty confront many hardships, but the stress and impact of hot having their basic needs met is consistently cited by researchers, educators, and child welfare advocates as a major barrier to children's healthy development and success in school. By mobilizing resources and advocating for children and families experiencing economic hardship, MNRS actively works to reduce the impact of income inequality. Since 2006, MNRS has connected more than 100,000 local children and their families to resources and supports that boost quality of life, provide stability, strengthen well-being, and cultivate a sense of belonging.
