Take Stock provides college-readiness workshops for middle and high school students from Leon, Gadsden & Wakulla schools. We meet one Saturday per month (during the school year) from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. We are looking for professionals, retirees and especially current college students who can interact with our students. Volunteers will perform the role of a Group Leader, participating in scheduled workshops. Volunteers may also have the opportunity to share their "college experiences" with students.

Mission Statement
Take Stock in Children (TSIC) at Tallahassee Community College (TCC) provides the opportunity for high-potential, low-income middle and high school students in Leon, Gadsden and Wakulla counties to break the cycle of poverty through access to post-secondary education.
Description
Our comprehensive services start in middle school, continue through high school and include students' transition into college. We offer college scholarships, provide caring volunteer mentors, hold college readiness workshops, and instill hope for a better life.
We look for volunteer mentors to meet with students twice per month. Mentoring sessions last between 30-60 minutes and occur at a school near your home or workplace during school hours. If you are at least 18 years old, able to commit to a year, and eager to serve as a positive role model, we want to hear from you!
