Nursing Students in McMinnville: Opportunity for Direct Patient Care
ORGANIZATION: Kindred Hospice
Please visit the new page to apply.
Great opportunity for Nursing Students to provide direct patient care and support. Also, gain knowledge and experience in hospice and end-of-life care.
As a Hospice Patient Volunteer, you would provide the patient with socialization, companionship, and emotional support. But most of all, be available for patient with terminal diagnosis.
Many Nursing Students who have volunteered with us, have found the experience to be invaluable and rewarding. They cited the ability to develop their bedside manners, build ongoing patient relationships, understand the death and dying process, learn to interact with comorbidities such as dementia/Alzheimer's Disease, be in a clinical environment, etc.
Volunteers are assigned patients close to their home, work or school in the McMinnville area.
Kindred Hospice serves the Portland Metropolitan Area. Our office is located at 4500 Kruse Way, Suite 100, Lake Oswego, OR 97035
