We're looking for a few people to staff our front desk at our Berkeley storefront office. You'll be fielding questions and concerns from members of the public in person and on the phone. We'll also ask you to help out with administrative tasks like data entry and phonebanking to inform Sierra Club members of events and issues. Must be comfortable on the phone.
We ask for a regular shift of at least 3 hours per week. This position fluctuates between periods of activity and periods of slower-paced work. It's a good fit for for reliable, on-time people who enjoy interacting with the public - especially over the phone. We ask for a commitment of one day a week (Wednesday, Thursday or Friday) for at least three hours for at least three months.

Description
The San Francisco Bay Chapter is the local branch of the Sierra Club, America's largest and most effective grassroots environmental organization. The Bay Chapter is comprised of the nearly 40,000 Sierra Club members who live in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and San Francisco counties.
The Bay Chapter has a rich and vibrant history of environmental leadership going back to our founding in 1924. We have played a big role in shaping the Bay Area that you know and love.
With your help, we can continue to preserve open spaces, expand parks and public lands, minimize our impact on the natural world through smart urban planning, and establish the Bay Area as the world's leader for clean renewable energy generation!
