About San Angelo Police Department

Mission Statement

"We, the men and women of the San Angelo Police Department, in partnership with the public, are committed to improving the quality of life in our community by policing in a professional and courteous manner."

Description

If you aspire to make a difference for others around you, then this is your place. At the San Angelo Police Department we serve in the knowledge that there is much more to being a police officer than just throwing bad guys in jail. The best officers, and we have many, know the gun, badge, and handcuffs are secondary to community spirit, community interaction and community service.

Edmund Burke once said, "All it takes for evil to conquer is for good men to do nothing." We encourage you do be the person that does something.

You're invited to join a group of men and women who, as a whole, are working together to improve the quality of life in San Angelo. You have the opportunity to join a police department that has chosen to prevent crime instead of reacting to it, and to a police department that is revitalized and is taking pride in our unity.

I also want to invite the public to become our "partners" in the fight against crime as we pursue our goal of making San Angelo the safest city in America.

Thank You,

Chief Tim R. Vasquez
