Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Silverado Hospice patients and families experience L.I.F.E. (Love, Innovation, Family and Engagement) through our special hospice programs. Turn a few hours a week into priceless moments for hospice patients and families. Because at Silverado, hospice is a philosophy and not a place, we meet the patients' and families' needs wherever they live.
Our volunteers can serve in many different ways including: -Providing companionship and socialization to patient and family -Providing needed non-medical services, letter writing, running errands and assisting with family needs -Providing office support for direct patient care activities -Arrange and deliver floral arrangements to hospice patients -Provide support at time of death and during bereavement
We ask that you serve at least 2 hours weekly for a minimum of 6 months. You will undoubtedly find your volunteer experience with Silverado to be rewarding, educational, and life changing as you positively affect the hearts and spirits of those you serve.
All volunteers must be willing and able to pass a criminal background check, physical and drug screening.
