***Due to COVID-19 Precautions and to ensure the safety of our patients and volunteers we are currently not placing volunteers with patients. However, you may get involved by sending homemade cards to our office to distribute to our patients (birthday, thinking of you, words of encouragement, etc). We will be updating this listing as more information becomes available. Please email email@example.com for more information. Updated 6.22.2020
Silverado Hospice is seeking compassionate and committed volunteers!
Turn a few hours a month into priceless moments for hospice patients and families. Hospice volunteers can serve in many different ways such as providing companionship and socialization to patients and their families, sitting with them while their caregiver runs errands, pay music or sing to patients, and/or providing support at time of death and during bereavement.
We ask that you commit at least twice a month for a minimum of 6 months; some volunteers are able to give a few hours a week or every other week - it is flexible to your schedule! All volunteers must be willing and able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, TB skin test or X-ray, and have reliable transportation. We will match you up with a patient near your location. You will go through orientation to teach you all you need to know and we will "hold your hand" every step of the way. Come learn how you can help people in their time of greatest need!
You will undoubtedly find your volunteer experience with Silverado to be rewarding, educational, and life changing as you positively affect the hearts and spirits of those you serve.
