Hi Everyone,

My name is Necie and I am the founder of Fibro Patient Education and Support Organization.

One of our goals for 2018 is to plan and create a senior wellness fair to honor the seniors within our community.

I saw a few days ago on the news in Chicago where a senior was living in a run down apartment with no heat or water. The landlord would not respond to any of her phone calls for assistance. She was wearing two layers of clothes and was still cold and had no food or money to stay in a hotel.

This touched me deeply because many people including seniors are in similar situations.

I understand a wellness fair is not going to solve these types of issues. But, for one day I am seeking volunteers to help me plan a day of caring to honor our seniors and show love and support.

In order to make this happen I can't do it all by myself. I need organizers, grant writers, people with advertising and public relations experience. Community Organizers and financial support to lead this initiative.

Each senior whom attends the event will receive a basket of food, health screenings, emotional support, learn about self-care and a guide booklet that lists whom and where they can call for housing assistance, food, psychological support, safety and domestic abuse. etc.

This event is tentatively scheduled to be held in Waukegan, IL but is subject to change depending upon the venue costs.
