The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation (TFMJF) proudly presents the 5th annual Fight-4-Fitness 5K Run/ 1K Family Fun Run/Walk, and Community Day at Sunset Park in Las Vegas on Sunday, March 8, 2020. The Fight-4-Fitness run/walk will be kicked off with the 5K-run and the 1K Family Fun Run/Walk. An awards ceremony to celebrate our participants for joining the "fight" will follow. The Community Day event immediately following the awards ceremony will include good food, great music, fun games, raffled prizes, and knowledgeable health and fitness exhibitors who will offer their services to enhance your fitness goals.

The mission of Fight-4-Fitness is to form community alliances where awareness and empowerment serve as the nucleus for an improved quality of life. From children to adults, everyone is welcome to join the "fight" in reversing health trends that are adversely affecting our quality of life. We are convinced that Fight-4-Fitness will be your starting line, and your finish line will be a lifestyle that incorporates consistent exercise, healthy eating habits, raised awareness of your own health, and an innate desire to inspire others to join the "fight!"

Description

Foresight, generosity, and an unyielding desire to help underprivileged youth in the Las Vegas, Nevada community are what prompted prizefighting icon and 11-time world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. to establish the charitable foundation that bears his name - The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation (TFMJF).

Mayweather is regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time. Without question, he is the most distinguished and talented boxer of his era. His unprecedented mix of speed, power, and natural defensive instinct has translated into a matchless record of 46 wins without a loss, 26 knockouts, and 11 world championships in five weight classes.

Mayweather’s dominance in the sport of boxing has yielded significant accolades for him outside of the ring. In 2014 he was named the highest-paid athlete in the world by ESPN The Magazine and was also recognized for the second time by Forbes as the highest-paid athlete in all of sports - earning $105 million dollars in the September 2013 to 2014 calendar year. Over the course of his career, theBoxing Writers Association of America , Ring Magazine , BET and the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame have all honored Mayweather as Fighter of the Year. He also possesses a record six ESPN ESPY awards in the Best Fighter category. His prominent status as a constant achiever lends credence to his motto that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.

In 2007 - the same year that he established his sports and entertainment promotional company, Mayweather Promotions - Mayweather decided to leverage his star power by founding TFMJF, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering and promoting the social development and advancement of struggling adults and adolescents. The foundation is singularly focused on community health and wellness, economic growth and development, and impactful youth education.

"My desire to give is as strong as my desire to win," the pound-for-pound king of boxing explains. "I know how important it is to help those who are less fortunate than myself. I hope if I continue to work as hard outside of the ring as I do inside of it, I can inspire others to do the same and help out in their own communities as well." TFMJF continues to seek new ways to advance our mission of empowering and encouraging community alliances, impacting youth leadership, and strengthening family foundations through community development, entrepreneurialism, and educational initiatives.
