ORGANIZATION: REAP Inc

Gain hands-on experience working with 5th and 6th graders going through a leadership development program!

This opportunity is flexible to meet your interests, but can involve:

  • assistance with classroom management (help keep kids focus, work with struggling students one-on-one, etc)
  • assistance with curriculum implementation some days(lead various activities, games, and discussions)
  • assistance with curriculum creation (design the programming for the day using any activities you like that fit a given topic, etc)
  • assistance with program promotions (take photos and videos during the program, craft social media posts, create marketing materials, etc)
This opportunity is a great way to help at-risk kids in our community build up communication and leadership skills. At the same time, you gain valuable hands-on experience working with kids for jobs or school. We are happy to turn this position into an internship if your school offers credits for internships.

This program runs at two elementary schools. You can do Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, or Monday through Thursday.

REAP works with more than 600 students yearly, in grades seven through 12, who represent our most at-risk student population. Success is measured by their academic and personal growth. REAP is a proactive program that ignites, elevates and engages ALLstudents to be global leaders through civic engagement, entrepreneurship and cooperative management (conflict resolution) for a better future now.
