I am looking for several volunteers in the Jackson County that would like to just make friendly visits to hospice patients. Hospice patients are terminally ill but can be on services for a long time. They love to have company to just talk about their era or current events, play games, watch TV, go for walks, sing, etc,
There are so many benefits to volunteering and when you devote time to a patient there is no greater gift. The appreciation is remarkable and you will get great satisfaction on giving the the most precious gift.... time....
There is training, background check, finger printing and TB tests that must be completed to be a volunteer at Heartland Hospice. We pay for all the expenses. Once you are trained and assigned a patient that you agree upon your schedule is 100 percent flexible. We do ask that the patient is seen 4 times a month.

It is the goal of Heartland Hospice to provide palliative and supportive services to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs to the patients and caregivers in the home, health care facilities, or other residential settings.
