The vast majority of our nursing home residents use wheelchairs, and many like to move around the facility to participate in activities, enjoy socializing, attend chapel services, listen to musical performances and more. Others need to go to our rehab department for physical therapy, or to the onsite dialysis center for treatment.
Volunteers are needed to assist in transporting residents in wheelchairs to different areas of the facility. It may seem like a simple task, but it provides life-enriching opportunities for our residents who depend on the kindness of others. Can you make someone’s day a little bit brighter? Days and times are flexible. Training and free off-street parking provided.

Description
St. Augustine Health Ministries is a mission-driven, faith-based, not-for-profit organization affiliated with Catholic Charities and is dedicated to providing a continuum of health care and social services within our community. Within the Health Ministries, St. Augustine Health Campus cares for the chronically ill and aging through short-term rehab, assisted living, and long-term care. The St. Augustine Child Enrichment Center provides early education and child care for 80+ children, beginning at 6 weeks through preschool. Holy Family provides home health care, residential and community-based hospice services. Emerald Village Senior Living provides independent and assisted-living apartments located in the west suburbs for active seniors 55+.
