The MGC Long Run is a 15k, 5k and Kids' Fun Run that takes place in downtown Columbia. This is the fifth year of the race, which raises money for the USO South Carolina. The USO is a nonprofit organization that helps strengthen the military service members by keeping them connected to their families, home and country throughout their service to the nation.
It takes an army of volunteers to make the MGC Long Run happen! We have volunteer opportunities in a number of areas:
Race Setup (6 am-9 am): Help us set up the race party, registration, packet pick-up and more.
Course Marshalls (7 am-10:30 am; times may vary based on mile marker location): Course marshalls man the race course and help keep our runners safe.
Race Party (8:30 am-11:30 am): Help us keep the race party going. Volunteers will help restock food and beverage, assist with the awards ceremony, hand out medals and more.

Mission Statement
McAngus Goudelock & Courie is proud to bring the MGC Long Run 15k|5k back to Columbia for its second year. This road race began in 2014 in an effort to combine the firm’s wellness initiative with its community giving program. With over 750 runners, walkers and volunteers, the inaugural event was a huge success, raising $25,000 for USO South Carolina. The 2016 race will again benefit USO South Carolina. This year’s race will include a 15k,, 15k Relay, 5k and a Kids’ Fun Run, all taking place on Saturday, February 6 in downtown Columbia. The races will be followed by a family-friendly fun party at the First Citizens Courtyard on the corner of Main and Lady.
