Job Description

Street Child is calling for individuals hoping to gain valuable experience in the development sector by undertaking a voluntary communications role in Liberia or Sierra Leone. Street Child is currently seeking to conduct research on a number of issues affecting marginalised children in West Africa, to inform the design and development of appropriate initiatives. This placement is a unique opportunity to make a critical contribution to an organisation that is setting up and scaling its efforts to enable out of school children to access a meaningful education.

Street Child offers placements for anywhere between four to twelve weeks, supporting our work in Liberia and Sierra Leone and the work of our partner organisations. Working alongside the Street Child team, key responsibilities will include -

● Collating case studies from the various Street Child projects

● Building the visual media library, including photographs and film footage for marketing purposes

● Training local staff on case study writing and photography

● Collecting, consolidating and analysing data from the field

● Liaising with local partners and stakeholders

● Weekly reporting from the in-country team to the UK team

● Blog contribution in the field

● Researching interesting personal stories and the impact of the projects
