We are looking for passionate volunteer instructors to teach our six-week A Taste of African Heritage cooking and nutrition curriculum to community members in the Boston metropolitan area. We will provide teacher certification, so prior teaching experience is not required, but being comfortable in the kitchen is key. A passion for nutrition, healthy eating, plant-based foods, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning about African diaspora foods is also important. Teaching an entire class series requires about 15-16 hours of time over the course of the series (roughly six, 2-hour class sessions, plus clean up, set up, and possibly some grocery shopping). Volunteers can be partnered with organizations that have already agreed to host the classes, but we also welcome ideas about potential new host organizations.
