The nsoro Foundation’s 15th Annual Starfish Ball funds programs and college scholarships for youth aging out of foster care. By volunteering with the nsoro Foundation, you can change the course for youth in foster care and provide hope through education and service.

Tasks will be assigned in groups of 5-7. Come ready to have fun, work hard, and make a difference!

1. Saturday, January 11th from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM:
All volunteers must attend a training session/brunch at the St. Regis Atlanta on

2. Auction Set Up: Friday, January 17 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Volunteers will assist in preparing and set up of the silent auction items in the St. Regis boardroom. The length of this shift is variable and will depend on the volume and efficiency of volunteers.

3. Auction Transition: Saturday, January 18, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Volunteers will assist in the transfer and merchandising of silent auction items to the pre-function space.

Registration Assistance: Saturday, January 18 5:00 - 8:00 PM

Volunteers will assist with guest arrival and check-in. Volunteers are asked to wear business attire/cocktail attire in black.

Auction Assistance: Saturday, January 18 5:30 - 10:00 PM

Volunteers will assist the auctioneer Darren Meares with auction selling and bidding. Auction volunteers will assist in generating interest in silent and live auction items during the event and then collect paddle numbers and donation denominations as paddles are raised during the live auction. Volunteers for this task must have outgoing personalities and be comfortable speaking with guests. Volunteers are asked to wear business attire in black.

Auction Break Down: Saturday, January 18 8:30 - 11:00 PM

Volunteers will assist in the transitioning and disbursement of auction items for guest check out. For this task, volunteers must be organized, efficient and logistics minded. Volunteers are asked to wear business attire in black.

Our Mission is to provide access to post secondary education for all youth in foster care. We invest the money we raise in youth from foster care through direct academic scholarships and college preparatory programs.

Description

50% of youth in care will be homeless within two years of leaving the system, and 78% of the current death row population spent time in foster care. The nsoro Foundation changes the course for foster youth by providing hope, guidance, and the critical funding needed to graduate from college.
