ORGANIZATION: PRC (aka Positive Resource Center)

  • 21 people are interested

PRC is seeking to recruit Special Event Volunteers who would be able to work at some or all of the 6-8 late-night events held throughout the year. Recently, Positive Resource Center has merged with the AIDS Emergency Fund and Baker Places to form PRC, a San Francisco-based nonprofit whose mission is to help people affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use, or mental health issues better realize opportunities by providing integrated legal, social, and health services that address the broad range of social risk factors that impact wellness and limit potential.

PRC hosts various fundraising events throughout the year, along with participating in events where we are selected to be a beneficiary. We heavily rely on our volunteers and appreciate their help greatly. In some cases, the amount of the proceeds is directly determined by the number of volunteer shifts filled. Many of these events either take place late at night or run from the evening to late night. We are searching for volunteers who would like to work these later shifts. Certain events also give volunteers various perks, such as complimentary admission for other events.

Description

Assist at late-night events and parties benefiting PRC in the areas of security, set up, registration/check-in, coat check, food & beverage services, silent auction or floor monitor, ushering, or tear down. In most cases, you will have duties to perform but will also be able to enjoy the event

Special Events (late-night)

  • Up Your Ally -
    • Bay of Pigs - July 28
    • Rough - July 29
  • REAF Help Is On The Way - August 19 (later shift ends around 1am) - pending
  • Folsom Street Fair -
    • Magnitude - September 29
    • Deviants - September 30
  • REAL BAD - September 30
  • Sundance Hoedown - November 3

Commitment

There is no commitment to volunteer at multiple events during the year. However, it is imperative that you are able to work the events you sign up for. Proceeds towards PRC from many events are directly tied to the amount of volunteers we are able to provide, and when volunteers do not show up we lose funding.

Must be 21 years of age or older.
