Help Immigrants and Refugees - Volunteer as a Mock Interviewer

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: English for New Bostonians

  • 5 people are interested

Mock Interviewers will conduct a practice job interview for ESOL students in a classroom. All the materials will be provided prior to the event and volunteers will receive a quick training. These interviews last 15 to 20 minutes and allow the interview to interact with the ESOL student to give feedback, guidance, and advice that they will need to pursue a better job.

Many immigrants held prestigious and notable jobs in their home countries. However, coming to the United States poses many challenges for immigrants hoping to enter the workforce. These mock interviews will help immigrants to feel better prepared for applying and interviewing for jobs. These will hopefully allow them to access better jobs so that they can provide for themselves and their families.
