HarmonyCares Hospice patients who reside in their own residential home may not always get out to get this essential need met.

We all know what having our hair done can do in how we feel about ourselves and how it can affect our outlook!

If you have some extra time to enrich others in this way, please respond to connect with the Volunteer Coordinator at HarmonyCares Hospice today!

All Volunteers are afforded specialized training, given Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed, become an integral part of the HarmonyCares Hospice care team and are provided direct support by the Volunteer Coordinator.

About HarmonyCares Hospice-Grand Rapids

3355 Eagle Park Dr. NE, Suite 102, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, US

Mission Statement

For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.

Description

Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. It is a program for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame. The hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. The goal of hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility
