Turn PDFs of the original 1906 light station building plans into digital renderings in both 2D Adobe Illustrator and 3D models.
The 2D models will aid in reconstruction and are the first step in creating paper 3D "tab and slot" buildings to be used in fundraising.
The 3D models will form the basis for ongoing video game-quality construction to create a free online virtual experience for individuals with geographic or physical barriers to visiting this rugged, off-grid station.
Some aspects of this project might fit well with high schools or colleges interested in multi-year educational opportunities which also fulfill community service requirements.

About Northwest Schooner Society
Location:
P.O. Box 75421, Seattle, WA 98175, US
Mission Statement
The Northwest Schooner Society works to preserve the vessels, facilities and skills of our maritime heritage.
Description
By teaching sailing aboard historic ships, the Northwest Schooner Society demonstrates the power of teamwork, the interconnectedness of people and their environment and the exhilaration of mastering new challenges. We harness the wind, giving our students-of-any-age a new perspective on their own strengths and weaknesses.
Two properties are currently being restored and operated, the 1926 Schooner Lavengro, homeported in Seattle, and the 1906 Burrows Island Light Station, off the grid near Anacortes, WA.
