Tour de Cure Event Steering Committee: Sub-Committee Lead

Reports to: Executive Director

Summary: The American Diabetes Association of Washington is looking for Sub-Committee Leads who will oversee a particular component of the Tour de Cure event on May 5 th, 2018. Sub-committees include: Day of Event Experience, Internal Communications, Food & Fun, Champions & Red Rider/Strider Experience, Day of Event Volunteers, Recognition, Safety, Equipment, etc. A successful Sub-Committee Lead will ensure that planning, volunteer resources, and cross-committee coordination is in place to effectively achieve goals.

Attributes needed: Personable, organized, reliable, proactive, independent, clear communicator, able to work with people from a variety of backgrounds, and able to support and manage other volunteers.

Required experience: Past Tour de Cure or other similar event involvement, people management, and experience directly related to sub-committee area of focus.

Time Commitment: January-May for an estimated 2-6 hours per week. Sub-Committee Leads also agree to participate in 2 hour meetings (in-person or by phone) each month, support event set-up on May 4, assist on May 5 - the day of the event, and conclude with a SWOT analysis/debrief following the event.
