ORGANIZATION: American Diabetes Association

Reports to: Associate Director, Development

Summary: The American Diabetes Association of Washington is looking for a volunteer who will serve as the Red Rider/Strider Chair. The role of the Chair is to help develop, grow, and engage with Red Rider/Strider program. The Chair will sit on our Tour planning committee and will recruit 2-3 volunteers to assist with tasks. Responsibilities include: developing and tracking an engagement plan, attending planning meetings, and ensuring a positive day of event experience for our Red Rider/Striders.

Red Rider/Striders are an extremely important part of our annual Tour de Cure fundraiser: they are participants with diabetes.

Attributes needed: Personable, organized, reliable, proactive, independent, clear communicator, able to work with people from a variety of backgrounds. A person with diabetes - who understands the unique challenges of the disease because they have a personal connection to it - would be ideal, but not required.

Required experience: Office management, email, people management, and outreach.

Time Commitment: Approximately 3-5 hours monthly.
