2018 Summer Volunteers at KFICCC

We are looking for volunteers ages 13 and older to volunteer throughout this summer to assist and supervise young children with and without disabilities in a fun and friendly classroom setting located in Silver Spring, MD. Volunteers may assist with arts and recreational activities and some volunteers may participate in field trips (separate parent permission form will be required).

All volunteers must be at least 13 years old by June 1 of the calendar year.

Available Shifts:

  • June 18-Aug 31, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-12:30 pm OR 2-6 pm (ages 18 months-5 years)
  • June 18-Aug 31, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-12:30 pm OR 1-6 pm (ages 4-10 years)

All afternoon volunteers will assist with administrative and classroom preparation tasks during classroom naptime.

Description

The Arc Montgomery County supports children, youth, adults and families by providing child care and education, work skills training, employment, community living services, resources, advocacy and respite care.

Each day, The Arc provides residential and vocational services for over 400 adults, early childhood education and child care for over 125 families, and various supports for over 90 adults living independently. In addition, we provide information and resources referrals to over 3,000 Montgomery County individuals and families each year.
