Mission Statement
Arlington Thrive provides emergency financial assistance to Arlington residents who are in crisis and unable to pay their bills.
Description
Since 1975, Arlington Thrive has been helping Arlington neighbors in need with emergency financial assistance. A few of our programs include:
- Daily Fund - The program pays rent, medical and dental bills, prescriptions, transportation and some work-related expenses.
- The Carter-Jenkinson Memorial Homelessness Prevention Fund provides rental and related assistance for Arlington households that are experiencing financial crises that put them at risk of becoming homeless, and whose needs are greater than the Daily Fund can accommodate. The program is named for two former AMEN Board members, Eleanor Carter and Frieda Jenkinson, who established this program.
EnergyShare program isfunded by Dominion Virginia Power. This program helps qualifying Arlington households pay home heating bills and cooling bills per season per household. In most cases, the assistance prevents shut-off of the utility.
Dress for Work Success provides brand new, professional work attire for clients who have completed the Arlington County Employment Center’s "Arlington Works!" program, helping recipients make a smooth transition to self-sufficiency.
