During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
A hospice volunteer is a special part of the hospice team. They are people who wish to make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill, or those who are grieving, by giving their time to assist a patient or family member(s). Hospice offers 3 types of volunteer opportunities: Direct care, indirect care, and bereavement. Direct care volunteers offer companionship and support to patients and/or their families. Many of our patients and families simply enjoy having someone to visit with from time to time. Indirect volunteers might do activities such as make phone calls, make crafts, deliver blankets to patients, etc. Bereavement volunteers assist with letters, spiritual prayer calls, and companionship for bereaved family. All new hospice volunteers receive free training that provides information regarding the hospice philosophy of care and the volunteer roles. Volunteer qualities we look for are: the desire to make a difference, non-judgmental, caring and compassionate.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
