VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) is a basic needs organization whose programs include access to healthy foods, social services, housing stability, and supportive services. Together, we create pathways to stronger, more hopeful, communities.

VEAP enlists the help of over 3,000 volunteers each year to ensure the smooth running of our Food Pantry and other services. Join us in this work as a Volunteer Front-Desk Receptionist! The Volunteer Front-Desk Receptionist welcomes in VEAP's daily volunteers and other visitors, creating an inviting and secured environment.

Major responsibilities:

• Greet and check in volunteers and non-client visitors
• Provide general information and assistance for volunteers
• Clerical and administrative tasks, computer and non-computer
• Assist in light security in VEAP area

Qualifications

1. Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
2. Pass Criminal Background Check annually.
3. Punctuality and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
4. Adapt to varied work environment; use of tact and diplomacy in dealing with age, economic, ethnic and lifestyle diversity while maintaining strict confidentiality.
5. Effective communication - verbal and listening with clients/visitors/staff/volunteers
6. Interact with a friendly and professional manner
7. Seated position
8. Must be mobile and able to lift up to 15 lbs.
9. Basic computer skills

Time: We are in need of someone to help with our Thursday evening shift from 4:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. (We do have other day time openings as well)
