Cat socializing is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for anyone who loves cats! In this position, volunteers assist staff with ensuring our felines receive daily affection, play, exercise, and human interaction. Our cat colony room is an open-space cattery, which means our cats get to roam free and play the majority of the day. Cat socializers spend their volunteer time in this cat colony room...petting, playing, and loving on all of our cats. This helps keep their anxiety level down and makes them more adoptable while they are in our care. Cat socializers also assist in answering questions of potential adopters, matching potential adopters with cats best suited to their family and lifestyle, and guiding adopters through the first stages of adoption. If you are looking for a mellow and relaxed volunteer opportunity in which you are responsible for enriching the lives of rescue cats, this position is for you!
