Dog Socialization

Dog socialization is one of the most important and rewarding roles volunteers play within our organization. In this position, volunteers assist staff in ensuring our animals receive basic needs fulfillment while they are in our care. Dog socializers provide exercise (dog walking or running), affection, play, and human interaction. The more attention and exercise our dogs receive, the less anxious and more adoptable they are while they are at our shelter. All training is provided, and volunteers are free to choose their own schedule and hours. Although we do not have a minimum time requirement, volunteers are encouraged to choose a weekly shift and serve at least 4 hours per month. If you enjoy being outdoors, are a dog person, or just want to give a rescue pet some love and attention, this is the job for you!
