Every weekend in February, Brookside Nature Center hosts Maple Sugaring tours outdoors in our own maple grove. It's a fascinating process to share with park visitors!
Volunteers are needed to help set up, serve maple syrup on pancakes, and to help put away supplies at the end of the day. There are 3.5 hour shifts that are either in the morning or afternoon.
This is an outside festival, so volunteers are expected to show up dressed for the weather! We request you sign up for at least two shifts throughout the month.
This is a Student Service Learning approved program, for volunteers 15 years old and up.

Description
Our agency is located just north of Washington D.C., and was originally created to protect the stream valleys around the D.C. area. We have grown into a 34,000 acre park system with over 400 local, urban and regional parks; recreation centers; ballfields; playgrounds; nature centers, a botanic garden and over 200 miles of trails.
