Volunteering as a hospice companion will change your life.

Join our team of volunteers who visit individuals on hospice services to offer a one-on-one caring presence. Our volunteers spend time listening to stories, building relationships, doing crafts, helping with simple chores, and other activities that make a huge difference in the lives of people with terminal illnesses.

Suncrest is looking for people who can commit to a few hours a week for ongoing visits with our patients. We match volunteers with patients based on interests, skills, need, and location. We are especially looking for volunteers in the West Valley areas of Glendale, Peoria, Goodyear, Sun City, Surprise, Avondale, and Buckeye, but we have opportunities across the entire Phoenix metro area.

We would love to meet you and bring you on board to one of our care teams! Use the "I want to help" link to fill out a contact form and our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch with you!

Description

Hospice is not a "place" but a philosophy. The care provided by Suncrest Hospice does not focus on halting, delaying, or curing of an illness but rather on comfort. At the center of hospice care is the core belief that each of us has a right to die pain-free and with dignity.

Suncrest hospice provides exceptional care to their patients by qualified and compassionate physicians, nurses, aides, social workers, spiritual advisors, and volunteers.
