Michigan Humane Society is hosting a Valentine's Telethon!

The annual Valentine’s Telethon will take place on Thursday, February 8th, 2018, at WXYZ Channel 7 studios in Southfield (20777 W. Ten Mile Rd). Volunteers are needed for our on-air phone bank, answering donation calls and entering donor information.

This year all of the available stations will have laptops! Instead of writing out forms, we will ask you to enter donor information while on the phone. We ask that if you sign up to help this year, you be comfortable with data entry on a computer. We are certain this will continue to make this system as stream-lined as possible, making it a positive experience for everyone!

As a reminder, volunteers assisting in the on-air studio must have a professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, be comfortable typing on a computer and learning a new system, legible handwriting (including good spelling), the ability to hear in noisy environment, and stay for a complete shift. We look forward to having you join us for another memorable day!

We ask that you plan to show up 30 minutes before your assigned shift, for a review of new protocols for manning the phone banks! There are 2 hour shifts and 3 hour shifts available.

Here are the shift times for the day:

5:30 AM - 8:00 AM
8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Please contact the MHS volunteer department as soon as possible if you would like to volunteer! To be a special events volunteer with MHS, we ask they you are committed and volunteer a minimum of once every 6 months.
