Volunteers sorting in the VAC
Volunteers from a corporate group sort through donated product into category boxes.

An "open volunteer" opportunity, participants sort through donated product including shelf-stable foods, breads and sweets, and at times meat products. Volunteers sort by category, checking for date and condition of cans and food containers. There is a regular opportunity to create assorted boxes of food for various agencies. The sorting takes place in the volunteer action center and the warehouse facility. All volunteers go to the website and complete a volunteer application (based on age--we have youth volunteer forms for those under 18).
