Patterning assistant

ORGANIZATION: The Emma Joy Foundation

The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential was founded in 1955 in order to create programs for people with special-needs so that they could overcome their brain injuries and grow up to become neurotypical adults. There are many programs that they prescribe to their students, but the patterning program specifically requires assistants as it is a 3 person job. I have included a YouTube video below so that the interested applicant can see how the patterning process is done.

Patterning repairs brain injuries by consecutively crossing the midline and mimicking the infant crawling phase, which is the first movement of neurotypical human development. From crawling, people then crawl on their hands and knees, then walk and ultimately run. However, if a step is missed then this can cause issues later in life such as dyslexia etc.

Being a patterning assistant is easy - anyone can do it! You would just need to commit to 1 hour per day, 6 days per week, and we ask for at least a 1 year commitment. For this family, patterning is done from 7am-8am, 6 days per week (every day except Saturday).

You would also need to clear a background check and sex-offender registry.

Here is a YouTube video of a family doing patterning on their brain-injured child with cerebral palsy.

Here is a YouTube video of an adult who had cerebral-palsy as a child but is now neurotypical (they did the IAHP programs growing up)
