2005 New York Wing Leadership Encampment
The Leadership Encampment is a week long summer program designed to bring out the leaders in cadets and mentors in senior members. It takes place at Stratton ANGB, Scotia, NY. (GRADUATION CEREMONY)

We are seeking members to join the Civil Air Patrol in the capacity of Cadet Program Officers. Our organization works with male and female cadets age 12 to 21 and focuses on developing them physically, mentally, and socially through a challenging leadership program.

Military drill, customs and courtesies, summer programs, knowledge bowls, aerospace education, search and rescue, disaster relief and moral leadership are just a few of the programs our cadets participate in throughout their careers.

Become a mentor to these overachievers! Become someone who's made a difference in a young man/woman's life. No experience in military or education is necessary. We train!

Mission Statement

The mission of the Civil Air Patrol ( USAF Auxiliary ) is to provide citizens with a way to contribute their efforts, services and talents to the public welfare, the development of youth and education of the importance of aerospace. New York City Group HQ currently provides support and training for six squadrons located in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Floyd Bennett Composite Squadron is responsible for carrying out all three major missions of CAP and is located at a historic aviation site, Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn. Description

Civil Air Patrol is chartered with three missions: Cadet Programs, Emergency Services and Aerospace Education. Comprised of civilian volunteers--youth and adults, CAP is a community service organization dedicated to serving on local, state and national levels.
