VOICES is looking to add some new members to our Community Outreach team. If you love being in the community and talking to people about your passions, you would be a great addition to the team!

Summary:
The VOICES Outreach Team will work to increase the number of CASA Volunteers in Maricopa County through participation in tabling events. Recruitment is one of the primary functions of VOICES and has a direct impact on our ability to provide support to children in care.

Essential Duties:

  • Staff monthly outreach events. Examples include volunteer fairs, community festivals, or resource events.
  • Provide information and answer questions about VOICES and the role of the CASA program within the foster care system.
  • Act as a resource for those interested in becoming a CASA volunteer, providing information on the guidelines and process for becoming a CASA.
  • Participate in recruitment events hosted by VOICES on a quarterly basis to provide support to staff.
  • Occasional data entry and lead follow up.

Requirements:

  • Must present a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Must possess above average interpersonal skills
  • Must be punctual, responsive, and dependable
  • Must be comfortable speaking in diverse settings and a variety of audiences

Mission Statement

Voices for CASA Children is dedicated to bringing a voice to every abused and neglected child in state dependency and supports expansion of the CASA of Maricopa County program

Description

The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is:

a specially trained citizen-volunteer that advocates for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and within the community.

They are appointed by the juvenile court judge and work alongside case managers, providers and the foster care system.

Advocates are empowered by the court and make critical recommendations to the judge.

The CASA will remain with the child until they are placed in a safe, permanent and loving home.

Voices for CASA Children (Voices) is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting advocacy for abused and neglected children in Maricopa County. Voices raises funds and provides resources to enable CASA of Maricopa County to recruit, train and support a larger volunteer force of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) who bring a consistent presence and a voice to these children.
