The Emergency Department volunteer serves as the information and assistance person for staff and patients. Directs visitors and family to the proper source for information about status of patient in the Emergency Department (ED) and Fast Track. Assists patients in all areas as directed by staff. Assists ED and Fast Track staff as needed.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and interact with patients and staff appropriately. Mature, caring and positive attitude. Respect of individual differences and cultures is necessary.
Volunteers must be able to make a weekly commitment of 3 hours.
