Our mission at the Petaluma Health Center is to not only provide health services but to also provide healthier options to the communities we serve. We are looking for able-bodied adults who can lift 40 pounds (or so) to help us with our Free Food Distribution. In partnership with Redwood Empire Food Bank, we distribute free food, Farmer’s Market style to our community on a first come-first serve basis every Monday (RAIN or SHINE) at both the Petaluma Health Center and the Rohnert Park Health Center. This is a volunteer based program, and our community would really appreciate your help with packaging and distributing the groceries. Please let us know if you would like to come out and help! All volunteers are welcome to take home groceries from the distribution as well!
Every week, at least 10 volunteers assist us with setting up Food Distribution sites, distributing the food and cleaning at the end. Volunteers age 12 and older from all backgrounds are welcome to participate (volunteers less than 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult). Volunteering at the PHC and RPHC Food Distribution is a fun and rewarding experience to all!
Free-Food Distribution Sites:
- The Rohnert Park Health Center distribution is located at 5900 State Farm Drive (in parking lot): 9AM - food runs out
- The Petaluma Health Center distribution is located at 1310 Clegg St. (in the parking lot of New Life Christian Church): 9AM - food runs out
