At ChickTech, we believe every girl and woman has the right to fulfill their true potential. Through a variety of confidence and skill building experiences, we uplift and empower girls and women through the lens of technology. In the end, our goal is to get and keep girls and women in high tech and show them they are capable of doing - and being - anything they desire. Through service across the country, community members are joining us to bring these experiences to the girls and women who need them the most.
The ACT-W (Advancing the Careers of Technical Women) Conference Manager will be responsible for planning our day-long Women in Tech conference in San Francisco in August 2018. This will include recruiting and leading a committee dedicated to finding sponsors and partners for the event, as well as organizing all of the logistical details for the event (location, catering, scheduling, speakers and workshops, etc). You will receive guidance from the chapter directors, leadership team and the national ACT-W conference manager. You can check http://bayarea.act-w.org/ for more details from last year's event.
This opportunity is perfect for someone looking for a leadership role in organizing a large scale event for 200-300 people. The perfect candidate for this role will have strong organizational and event planning skills, as well as will be able to dedicate 5-10 hours a week (more when the event gets closer) to planning and executing this event. They will also be passionate about women in technology and have exceptional people skills.

Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
