Shire House is looking for a highly motivated food and cooking enthusiast to plan, run and manage a cooking class for our residents.
The "class" entails planning and preparing the meal and eating and cleaning up as a group.
Shire House will provide all the ingredients and supplies along with a wonderful fully loaded and functional kitchen to use.
We would like the class to be held either on Thursdays or Saturdays, once the volunteer decides which day is best for them the class will be held regularly on that specific day.
We are seeking several volunteers so that they can take turns and or alternate if necessary.
Our program residents are within the high-functioning Autism spectrum, they are curious and knowledgeable on various subjects and can challenge you with their questions.

Description
Shire House was founded in San Jose, California, in July 2012 and provided services in San Jose through March 2021. Shire House relocated to San Antonio, Texas, in April 2021.
Shire House offers and manages Shared Housing Programs, and Community Activities for adults within the Asperger, HFA, and Neurodiverse community.
Our programs and community activities are specifically for HFA (formerly known as Aspergers) and Neurodiverse adults aged 18 and over.
