Are you a Night Owl? We need overnight crisis line volunteers to help staff the 11:00pm-7:30pm shifts--especially during weekdays. Training provided. Must be 18+. Minimum commitment of one recurring shift every other week. You pick from available shifts to match your availability with our needs. Must be dependable, compassionate, and a good listener.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Memphis Crisis Center is to be a compassionate lifeline to anyone in distress.


The Memphis Crisis Center provides a 24/7 crisis lifeline to anyone in distress. We provide help, build hope, and save lives every day. Our trained volunteers, using a combination of compassionate listening, crisis de-escalation, and suicide prevention, assist callers with immediate problems and link them to the long-term services they need to cope and overcome. All our services are free, safe, and confidential. Along with the crisis line, the MCC administers the Call4Kids Line, The Elder Lifeline, the HIV Care Line, serves as the local affiliate of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, the National Veterans Hotline, the National Spanish Hotline, partners on the SeniorBSafe Line, and provides after-hours answering services for the Rape Crisis Center and the Family Safety Center.
