Become trained as a support group facilitator, and maintain support group meetings on a regular basis. You will become a resource for families and caregivers as they deal with a dementia diagnosis. You will be responsible for arranging speakers to join the group, encouraging participants to provide assistance and emotional support to each other, presenting pertinent information, and informing the Alzheimer's Association of any changes in group facilitators, time, of location of group meetings. This role is best suited for someone who has personally been touched by Alzheimer's disease, but is not currently so closely connected to their own story that providing support to others would be challenging.

Groups are not held at the Alzheimer's Association, but at a location of your choosing within the East Tennessee region.
