Do you have a passion for local history? The Flat Rock Historical Society is seeking new members to join the board.
The mission of this Society shall be to preserve and communicate, to residents and visitors, the history and spirit of those who have lived in and near the City of Flat Rock from the beginning of human habitation or its vision, and to bring our community together for the enjoyment, discovery, and learning of our past to create our future.
Our bylaws, including descriptions of board positions, are available here: http://flatrockhistory.org/about/2017-bylaws/
Our board members are instrumental in creating successful history programs in our community. Board members are expected to become members of the society, attend monthly board meetings, and contribute time and expertise. The museum hosts open houses on the second Sunday of each month and help from board members is key to the success of each of those events, along with the other programs and fundraisers that occur throughout the year. We are seeking board members with a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
