ORGANIZATION: FLAT ROCK HISTORICAL SOCIETY

1873 C.G. Munger General Store

The Flat Rock Historical Museum needs volunteers to help our local students find a passion for history!

Retired teachers and college students working toward teaching certification serve as volunteers to help guide field trips and scout visits. Bring history to life through tours, hands-on activities, and costumes.

Volunteers present educational content that is aligned with state social studies standards. All background information is provided. This is an occasional part-time volunteer opportunity depending on the schedule of our field trips. School field trips will occur during normal school hours and typically last 1-2 hours. Scout visits may be in the evening or on a weekend. Background in teaching history specifically isn't necessary, but a love for teaching kids is required!
