New Morning is hosting our 1st annual "Battle of the Badges - 911 Cook Off" event on Saturday, February 24th at the Forni Building. This event consists of our county's first responder's competing for the "Best Culinarian in EDC" Trophy. They will be cooking soups, stews and chili's. So far we have 8 fire departments, Placerville PD, CHP, Probation, Sheriffs office, Army, Navy and many more. We will have live music,, vendors, entertainment from our local high schooler's, beer and wine and guest "celebrity" judges.
We are looking for people to help set up the event (moving tables, putting up signs), registration folks, help during the event, help cleaning up.

The mission of New Morning Youth & Family Services is to provide quality professional social services to enhance the lives of Western Slope El Dorado County youth and their families.

Description

Since 1970, New Morning has provided a safety net of services to youth and their families in El Dorado County. These services include the 24-hour Emergency Youth Shelter (the only one in El Dorado County) for homeless, abandoned and runaway youth. New Morning has programs to support alcohol and drug treatment for adolescents, counseling and support for pregnant and parenting teens, and counseling for high-risk youth (youth who are abused, suicidal, experiencing school failure, runaway or thrown out of their home, or engaging in delinquent behavior).
