Looking for a volunteer, not for profit thrift store manager, part time at 709 Main Street, Waltham, MA
Neighbors Who Care (NWC) Thrift Store is an all-volunteer run shop established to help fund the goal of NWC to provide volunteer companionship to older adults who may have outlived friends and family and find themselves isolated. NWC does this at no charge to the client, thus, it depends in part on the income from the not for profit Thrift Shop.
This would be a fun opportunity for someone who loves retail and seeks to "make things happen." The position takes creativity and a desire to know you are making a difference in the world.
Prior experience in retail would be important as would be the ability to work well with volunteers.
This would promise to be great opportunity and challenge for the right person.

Description
NWC has been pairing volunteers with older adults since 2003. Many of our clients find they have outlived family, friends and neighbors and have little support or socialization in their lives. Our compassionate volunteers become trysting friends to our clients.
As NWC does that at no charge to the clients, we are continually seeking ways to fund raise. The Neighbors Who Care Thrift Shop at 709 Main Street in Waltham is one way that NWC raises money along with grants and private donations. www.neighborswhocare.net
