Special Olympics North Carolina is looking for up to 15 volunteers to join our Games Management Team for Summer Games. Summer Games is May 29-30 at venues throughout Wake County - primarily in Raleigh and Cary. We have an existing team of about 150 for the 15 different venues but need a few to fill in at specific venues and also to help with the overall logistics. If you're free that weekend and able to attend evening meetings prior to the event and take part in training please let us know. Our Games Management Team needs are in the following areas: Information Services, Logistics, Meals, Media Relations, Results, Volunteer Management, Media and Security. Our staff and existing management team will work with you to pair you with the right opportunity depending on our needs and your skills and availability. We're fortunate in that we only have a few openings at each venue so you'll be joining a team of experienced volunteers. No prior Special Olympics experience is necessary. We will schedule a call or meeting to discuss the opportunity with you further. The first meeting of the entire team will be in the latter part of February.
Time Commitment: Typically 10-12 hours per day for 1-3 days. Some events like Opening Ceremonies are only one day, other sports may be all three days. Training and meetings in advance of the event are required as well.
