Lifelong has always been an organization that stands up for communities facing discrimination and marginalization. What makes our organization unique is not our services, but how we deliver them.

We discovered that for someone to overcome barriers to health, our staff needs to meet them where they are in life. Instead of just checking boxes on an intake form, we truly listen. Case managers identify what basic needs aren’t being met, whether that’s safe housing or reliable transportation to doctor’s appointments, or access to healthy food. Our kitchen cooks nutritious meals that cater to someone’s specific illness, and then hand deliver them to doorstep with a smile.

Have a book club, family, friends or co-workers who want to give back to the community through a group effort? Then Group Food Delivery is for you! As a group, you would organize the team to deliver meals and groceries on a rotating schedule. Routes generally take 45-60 minutes to complete and on average, volunteers will deliver to 4-7 clients.

Food delivery drivers are the heart and soul of our Chicken Soup Brigade food program, delivering thousands of bags of groceries and meals each year to our clients. We recommend having at lease a group of 5 or more for a rotating schedule.

Requirements: All volunteers must pass a background check, have reliable transportation and complete a training to be eligible. Ages 16-17 needs two people on a route. Ages 18+ can drive on their own. Volunteers are responsible for paying for gasoline.
