Our hospice program, "Vets Caring for Vets" needs volunteers who are willing to share their time and talents with other veterans.

Gentiva Hospice is a 4-Star provider in the We Honor Veterans programs and takes seriously the unique needs of our Veteran patients. Pairing "Vets with Vets" provides our patients with the opportunity to share the experiences of their lives with a person who can understand, relate and honor their service.

Veteran Volunteer opportunities are available to Vets of all ages and from all ranges of life experience to provide friendly visits to Veteran patients and/or their families at local healthcare facilities, Southwest Vets Home, or in their personal home in the Pittsburgh South Hills, North Hills, Washington County and Beaver Falls areas- you tell us where you would like to be stationed!

Volunteers are there to listen and talk, read a book, play cards, or watch a favorite t.v. show or ballgame. Volunteers also provide special support including playing a patient's favorite music or working on craft projects. No matter what your skills, talents or motivation, we have the opportunity for you to help!

Trained volunteers who are also Veterans will have the unique ability to support other veterans who are terminally ill.
