YOU can help spread science literacy throughout the community by assisting science center staff at fun, exciting outreach programs!

Program include:
Science Festivals - The Science Outreach Teams visits fairs, festivals, and community programs to share a science activity and encourage visitors to Do Science. This includes ColorFest, Water Company Festival, Trick-or-Treat at the Track and many others.

Assembly Programs - Our van programs, Ion Jones and Captain Current, travel to schools to bring a high-energy science adventure with a science show and walk-up activities for a day of STEM learning.

Science Expos - Hands on science activity stations for community, family, and after-school events

Science Enrichments - Our Science Outreach Team travels to classrooms to present science concepts. Students can ask questions, define problems, and investigate.

What you will be doing:
Engage children and/or parents, school students and other offsite audiences in science festivals, expos, in-class activities, community events and other offsite programs.

Assist in activity and/or booth set up and take down: props, activities, banners, signage

Connect and engage participants with questions or conversation about activities

Perform small format demonstrations such as tabletop activities

Be a positive representative of Kentucky Science Center in the community

Are you interested in having fun, meeting new people and being an ambassador of science literacy? Consider becoming a Science Center volunteer! We greatly value our volunteers who are willing to share their time, expertise and experience. The Science Center offers volunteer opportunities for adults and teens ages 13 and older.
