Our Mission: At Lifelong our mission is to "...empower people living with or at risk of HIV and/or other chronic conditions to live healthier lives." Lifelong has robust client management and support programs for housing, medical, wellness, dental, aging and disability client + sexual health education and prevention for both adults and youth. And through it all, the heart of our organization since its start 35 years ago, has been our Chicken Soup Brigade program.
Every week our Chicken Soup Brigade Client Care Advocates, Nutritionists, Chefs and Cooks, Warehouse and Distribution staff and 200+ regular weekly Volunteers work together to make, package, bag and deliver 1000+ nutritionally specific meals for clients in the greater Seattle metro area living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic health conditions
Where you come in: Warehouse Helpers organize food donations, bag groceries for weekly distribution, put together meal and food packaging, and repackage/portion bulk food donations and rescued (saved from waste) groceries and produce. With nearly 1.5 million pounds of food coming through our door every year, we need all hands on deck to help process the donations.
Warehouse Helper Volunteers are typically on their feet for most of their shift, and need to be able to lift 10-30 pounds. However, we can also accommodate individuals that need to sit during most of their shift or are not able to lift the 10-30 pound weight, just let us know!
Current needs: Wednesday-Friday - 10am-12pm or 1-3pm
Ages: 12-15 with a parent/guardian. Ages 16-17 with parental consent form which we will provide.
Thank you in advance and we look forward to you joining us!
We'll work with your schedule.
