During these uncertain times, how can we help?

Our Mission: At Lifelong our mission is "Building on our longstanding commitment to those living with HIV, Lifelong ensures that vulnerable and marginalized people thrive by eliminating barriers to health and wellness." We have robust client management and support programs for housing, medical, wellness, dental, aging and disability client + sexual health education and prevention for both adults and youth.
Every week our Chicken Soup Brigade Client Care Advocates, Nutritionists, Chefs and Cooks, Warehouse and Distribution staff and regular weekly Volunteers work together to make, package, bag and deliver medically tailored meals and groceries to clients in the greater Seattle metro area living with HIV/AIDS and other serious health conditions
Where you come in: Lifelong's Chicken Soup Brigade (CSB) needs volunteers to lift and stack boxes, unload trucks, repackage, bag, prepare, and pack grocery bags in our warehouse. The warehouse is the foundation of our work in getting food to clients who are living with and at risk of serious illnesses. Get a workout in while making sure food gets out to people who need it! With nearly 1.5 million pounds of food coming through our door every year, we need all hands on deck to help process the donations.
Warehouse Helper Volunteers are typically on their feet for most of their shift, and need to be able to lift 10-30 pounds. However, we can also accommodate individuals that need to sit during most of their shift or are not able to lift 10-30 pounds of weight, just let us know!
Current needs: Monday-Friday 9:30am-12pm
Ages: 12-15 with a parent/guardian. Ages 16-17 with parental consent form which we will provide.

Lifelong is the leading community health organization serving people with chronic illnesses, including cancers, homebound seniors and HIV/AIDS, in Western Washington. We believe all people have a right to a roof over their head, healthy food to eat, and access to affordable healthcare. Lifelong delivers food, housing, and health services; collaborates with community organizations on the prevention and care of chronic disease; and advocates for effective HIV/ AIDS policy. Lifelong's goal is to keep people healthy. Simply put- we make health work.
When a person is living with a chronic illness and faced with financial hardships, getting healthy can be an overwhelming task. This struggle affects people in every corner of our community - from ambitious youth eager to start their lives but struggling to come to terms with their illness to seniors dealing with hunger and isolation.
Until they get back on their feet, we advocate to make sure the amazing people we serve receive what many of us take for granted - food, shelter, insurance, even human interaction.
