Brighten someone's day with a companionship visit!
St. Joseph Hospice is looking for new volunteers wanting to provide companionship for hospice patients. This will take place either in the home or nursing home setting. Typical visits will last at least 30 minutes and can be as long as the volunteer's and patient's time availability permits.
What to do during companionship visits varies greatly as does each patient's interests. Typically, most patients would just like someone with whom to visit. However, some patients may enjoy being read to, playing card games, watching a movie/tv, etc.
If you would like to brighten someone's day by spending a little time with them, please contact Sarah, Volunteer Coordinator at (318)561-0100 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
